Summary

The Bill seeks to introduce greater employment protection for employees who work in businesses which are changing ownership by share transfer. <br><br>Key areas<br><ul><li>The Bill proposes to make certain provisions of the transfer of undertakings regulations (known as TUPE) apply where there is an &lsquo;equity transfer&rsquo;</li></ul><ul><li>Powers are given to the Secretary of State to define in detail the scope of transactions that would be caught by the provisions.</li></ul>The Bill was withdrawn at Second Reading.
