Tobacco and Vapes Bill

There is also a danger that making it verboten for the young to be associated with smoking will result in rebelliousness. A range of articles have been written recently, including one by, I think, Olivia Petter, an award-winning journalist and podcaster, who talked about smoking becoming edgy, rebellious and cool again, and said that the way to be seen—ironic, at the moment—is as an outsider who does not give a damn about the rules. Does the Minister know that designers are producing perfume featuring accents of nicotine, and that one of the fastest selling earrings on one of the designer sites contains cigarette butts? For the TikTok generation, Instagram images of smoking are all over the place. Now, I do not want that—I do not want young people to smoke—but I am talking about unintended consequences.
