Tobacco and Vapes Bill

Contribution

Some 85% of vapers who have been asked support stronger age-verification measures because they want to reduce youth access. In a later group, we will come on to talk about the evidence relating to the impact and potential harm of vapes over time, but I am starting from a general proposition that we do not wish to support the initiation of vape use by those who are under the age for purchase of vapes, and we want to minimise, wherever possible, overall vape use—other than for quitting smoking—as well as smoking.
