Public Authorities (Fraud, Error and Recovery) Bill

Contribution

In our view, it is vital that the PSFA, in carrying out its functions and exercising its investigatory powers, remains directly and properly accountable to Ministers. Ministers, in turn, must be in a position to answer truthfully and fully in these Houses, or in a Select Committee or an inquiry, for the actions taken in their name. That chain of responsibility cannot be allowed to become blurred or detached, as the Bill currently proposes.
