Public Authorities (Fraud, Error and Recovery) Bill

Contribution

When Governments take such draconian powers, they should be restricted to what is actually required. Creating wide powers but saying, “It’s okay, we won’t actually use them all”, is not acceptable. As I said previously, this Bill will outlast this Government, and we should be very careful not to grant unnecessarily draconian powers that might be used inappropriately by a future Government.
