The Government are rightly committed to parity of esteem between physical and mental health. As mental health services have developed in recent years, they have increasingly and rightly been delivered in the community, in the least restrictive environment possible, but for that to be done safely and appropriately, there needs to be parity of esteem and access to community mental health services just as there is to physical health services, which is not currently the case.
