Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill

I was interested in the discussion about the Treasury. The decisions being made by this Government are not on a cost-saving basis, as I think has been highlighted, but of course the Treasury has a significant role to play in encouraging growth, recognising the impact on the coffers within the Treasury of being successful in that area. Of course, the new foundation apprenticeships are critical in moving this forward, including across the whole reach of construction, digital engineering and manufacturing. There is nothing more powerful than meeting the MD of a company who started off in that company as an apprentice and who can give that first-hand, lived experience of how the opportunities just went up off the scale and how grateful they are for the opportunity to engage in that space.
