Children’s Wellbeing and Schools BillContribution
Where complaints cannot be resolved informally, we must ensure that the schools complaints system is more robust. Parents need reassurance around this. Clarification is needed around roles and responsibilities so that complaints schools cannot resolve are dealt with in a timely manner by the right body. I think that is why the noble Lord is saying that frustration is building up. The Secretary of State has made clear that she wants to make sure that the system is robust and respectful in the interests of finding resolutions quickly—there is nothing worse than allowing situations to fester—but, most importantly, in the best interests of the children. That is what we need to put at the forefront of our minds and why this is such an important area.
