This amendment is a call to action, and the time for action is now. I urge the Government to accept this amendment and to take a lead on school sport by developing and implementing a national strategy, by collaborating with educators, sports organisations and communities to create a comprehensive plan that addresses the current challenges and sets clear goals for the future, and by investing in teacher training. So many teachers only get three to six hours of training in the whole time that they prepare to become a teacher. We need to provide ongoing professional development to equip teachers with the skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality PE lessons.
