Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill

Contribution

Amendment 502K would require the Secretary of State, through a consultation with a range of stakeholders, to prepare a statutory code of practice on the efficacy of all forms of edtech for enhancing the attainment and well-being of children, alongside a certification scheme to support procurement decisions. I have no doubt that my drafting can be improved, but I ask the Minister how the department can continue to justify the increasing presence of products in our schools that detract from rather than enhance children’s learning outcomes, while stealing their data.
