Filtering and monitoring are fundamental to school safeguarding, but we have outsourced the burden to school leaders for something that they simply cannot control and for which children pay the price. It should not be possible for a commercial provider that does not meet the guidance to sell a product to a school. Amendment 502YH would put both standards and certification of filtering and monitoring systems on a firm footing, ensuring that any product that does not meet the standards cannot be used in our schools.
