Turning to Amendment 502YI, the Information Commissioner’s Office is auditing the practices of edtech providers and is due to publish findings later this year. It is also under a commitment to produce an edtech code of practice, which will support schools and edtech providers to understand their data protection responsibilities to safeguard children’s data. The Department for Education will use the outputs of the audit to inform future work on guidance, and tools to support schools to understand and discharge their data protection legislative requirements and safe use of technology and better regulate the market.
