Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill

Contribution

We recognise the importance of monitoring our progress in a timely and transparent way, so, in addition to post-legislative scrutiny, we have already published our plans for monitoring and evaluation in the impact assessment for the Bill. Bespoke reviews of policies will likely be conducted at a measure level or grouped measure level, depending on which is most appropriate, given their different objectives and metrics. We also intend to conduct a post-implementation review of the Bill as per the Better Regulation Framework. Many of the powers to create secondary legislation in this Bill stipulate that such secondary legislation will be subject to the affirmative procedures. This will give Parliament the opportunity to further scrutinise and debate our plans.
