The House may be interested to know that the Supreme Court considered this issue in R v ABJ, in which judgment was given by the noble and learned Lord, Lord Reed, the President of the Supreme Court, on 26 February this year. That case was brought on behalf of Hamas. The claimants complained that it was a breach of the European Convention on Human Rights for persons to be criminalised for expressing support for a terrorist organisation.
