Amendment 185S proposes the creation of new guidance by the Secretary of State to support the supply of community energy from new housing developments, ensuring local access, affordability and effective participation. As the noble Earl may remember, community energy is now explicitly referenced in the Great British Energy Act under its objects, meaning that Great British Energy may facilitate, encourage and participate in projects involving or benefiting local communities.
