Amendments 333, 333A and 328A seek to amend or clarify who can perform the role of developing or implementing an EDP. As has been said, there may be instances where it is appropriate for another body to take on some or all of Natural England’s role. Before I go on, I will clarify for the noble Baroness, Lady McIntosh, that a CPO is considered only when attempts to acquire land by agreement have failed, where there are no credible alternative options for conservation measures and there is a compelling case in the public interest. She interpreted that correctly from what I said before.
