The Bill as drafted strikes the right balance between requiring and enabling consultation while not unduly delaying the preparation of EDPs. I hope that the proposed government amendments that require Natural England to reconsult on any significant changes will be sufficient to reassure the noble Baroness, Lady Coffey, that her Amendment 285 is not necessary.
