Planning and Infrastructure Bill

Contribution

As drafted, the Bill already allows Natural England to tailor EDP end dates where appropriate, but the maximum period of 10 years provides a backstop to ensure that we see overall improvement within a reasonable timeframe. Allowing the EDP end date to be driven by the nature of the conservation measures could lead to longer EDPs, which, while still bound by the overall improvement test, could lead to longer delivery timelines for improvement to be seen and felt.
