We do not believe that a one-size-fits-all approach is appropriate, and a blanket requirement to keep such measures in place in perpetuity risks placing an unnecessary burden on Natural England and developers that goes far beyond outweighing the impact of development. Ultimately, this could make certain conservation measures unviable, even where they would be more effective at delivering, as indeed will be required under the legislation. On this basis, and with the additional assurance around the use of network measures, I hope that my noble friend feels able not to press her amendment.
