In that context, I point out that this Bill is the second piece of planning legislation to come before Parliament since the Hillside judgment was delivered by the Supreme Court, with the Levelling-up and Regeneration Act being the first. I fear that, if we do not come up with a solution to Hillside in the context of this Bill, the Government’s and Parliament’s credibility will diminish in the planning and development sector, because it will see us, at the second time of asking, still unable to come up with a solution for a real and widespread problem, one that is crying out for a legislative answer.
