That leads on to my second point. While the NPPF gives guidance that green space should be within a short walk of people’s homes, what does that mean in practice for all developments? The New Towns Taskforce advises that residents should be able to relax in shared, inclusive, open green space close to home—but is that a short distance on foot or by car?
