Planning and Infrastructure Bill

Crucially, the research also highlighted that people with lower socioeconomic status benefited the most in terms of mental well-being when they had green spaces nearby. We already know from many studies that there is a great social inequality in access to green space in the UK. Wealthier people live closer to pleasant, leafy areas. With the Bill, where so much of the focus is rightly on getting those of lower socioeconomic status into housing, please can we not make that inequality even greater by denying them close access to urban green or blue space, which we now know from a vast evidence base is critical for mental and physical health?
