The Liberal Democrats have an ambitious target of building up to 150,000 social homes a year, as referenced in Amendment 137. One might say that is totally unrealistic given the current trends and that there are significant barriers in the way of achieving that goal ever, despite the urgent need. But numbers aside, it illustrates the depth of the problem. Our figures were based on evidential need, and it demonstrates our aspiration to solve it.
