Amendment 138A allows me to follow up the exchange I had earlier in Committee with my noble friend Lord Lansley regarding the importance of spatial development strategies. This amendment requires all such strategies to be designed to ensure that the use and development of land in the strategy area supports the delivery of local strategies to improve health and well-being, including those that seek to ensure adequate provision for sport and physical activity in the form of access to green space, active travel infrastructure and sport and physical activity facilities such as gyms, swimming pools and leisure centres.
