Why is it important to see these amendments in the Bill? First, I believe that these amendments will protect the provision of sport and physical activity in the NPPF framework. It highlights the importance of physical activity facilities in communities and why they should be given consideration in developments. On the question of the value of physical activity, which lies behind my amendments, I note that physical activity offers communities significant social and economic value, both in the direct benefits to individuals of improved well-being and in the wider value to society, including the state.
