Local Audit (Amendment of Definition of Smaller Authority) Regulations 2025Contribution
There are a lot of implications of that change. It may be justified on inflationary grounds—a figure close to £15 million may be about right—but it needs a little more than that. I was surprised not to find an impact assessment or any indication of what the formal guidance to local authorities will be. I hope the Minister is able to allay some of the concerns that have been expressed here.
