I now turn to the Markets in Financial Instruments (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 2025. The markets in financial instruments directive, also known as MiFID, is an EU-inherited framework which governs the regulation of financial markets and the trading that happens on them. Under the wholesale markets review, the previous Government already undertook significant reforms to this framework.
