To produce the strategic spatial energy plan, the National Energy System Operator will conduct economic modelling to identify potential cost-effective locations for future GB electricity and hydrogen infrastructure within energy security, decarbonisation and environmental constraints. The centralised strategic network plan, or CSNP, will build on the strategic spatial energy plan and strategically plan across the whole transmission network, onshore and offshore, holistically enabling co-ordinated efficient network development and ensuring access to reliable, clean and affordable electricity.
