Speaking in the House of Lords on 7 July 2025

Debate

Renters’ Rights Bill

Contribution

My Lords, I thank all noble Lords for participating in this short but sweet debate on a very important issue. I particularly welcome the reiteration of the application of the Equality Act, particularly for people with disabilities who simply wish to have reasonable adjustments to live their lives with independence and dignity. That is the most important point that we are trying to achieve with this amendment. I am sure that my noble friend Lord Tope would wish me to say that he would love to continue to work with the Minister on this issue to try to ensure that we can achieve some of the changes that are required. That said, I beg leave to withdraw the amendment.
