Children’s Wellbeing and Schools BillContribution
In recent years, we have been reminded of the many children who are now not attending school. Many of us gave a warning about that during lockdown, saying that state closure of schools across the board would lead to a breach of the educational social contract, and that there would be problems later on with those children returning. We were treated as though the threat was that we wanted schools to be kept open. At that stage, the fact that children were being forced to stay at home did not mean that there was any concern about home-schooling in that situation. I think the state made some catastrophic errors during that time.
