The lesson here—and I take the point again from the noble Lord, Lord Anderson—is that we may need to look at the publicity and guidance to differentiate the actions of Palestine Action and the two other organisations that individuals may support from the legislative framework we are talking about. However, it is important that we look at specific incidents on a case-by-case basis. In this case, we must not conflate Palestine Action’s activity with legitimate pro-Palestinian support. I do not think anybody in this House would say that people cannot stand up and say what they want about Palestine, Israel or any other issue. Even with the extreme right-wing Russian organisation today, it is not illegal to stand up and say that Russia is doing the right thing in Ukraine—even though it is not—but it is illegal to take criminal action, intimidation and violence against individuals on the threshold that the Government have brought forward.
