8: After Clause 1, insert the following new Clause— “Further reform of the composition of the House of LordsWithin two years of the day on which this Act is passed, the Secretary of State must lay before Parliament a draft Bill containing legislative proposals for further reform of the composition of the House of Lords.”Member’s explanatory statement This amendment would require the Government to lay before Parliament a further bill to reform the House of Lords after the removal of hereditary peers.
