Parental Leave Review

Contribution

May I thank my hon. Friend for her question and for her consistent campaigning on this issue? She is right to point out that the Employment Rights Bill has important advances in that area. The review will also, I hope, have a positive impact on the gender pay gap. In particular, the review’s second objective is to ensure that we enable parents “to stay in work and advance in their careers after starting a family”. That will focus in particular on the women’s labour market and its outcomes, and of course on tackling the gender pay gap.
