There is also very limited evidence behind the substances used for the purposes of assisted dying. The evidence that such drugs reliably produce a peaceful and predictable death remains limited; in a number of jurisdictions where these substances are administered orally, the reported time to death varies widely, sometimes extending over many hours or even days.
