Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) BillContribution
The Minister pointed out, in her response, the problems in the wording of these amendments. I did not have any expert drafting advice in writing them. I had fantastic help from the Public Bill Office, whose staff spent a lot of time with me, but that is not the same as having parliamentary draftsmen. But I felt that it was really important that we tried to look at a scheme that was simpler and easier to understand, and that met the requests from the royal colleges, which others have pointed out.
