Can the noble and learned Lord confirm that the provision currently in Clause 5 allows any doctor to raise the option of ending the patient’s life if they feel it is appropriate to do so in their professional judgment? Can he also confirm that, as drafted, the Bill is not limited to the patient’s GP or treating consultant specialist and that there are no restrictions on the settings in which a doctor might do this, or in whose presence they might do this?
