Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) BillContribution
The only thing I can say is that in Canada, doctors regard it as a professional obligation to raise assisted suicide, because it is regarded as a medical treatment. There is the possibility that, lying in your hospital bed and having just received a terminal diagnosis, four or five different doctors walk into the room in the course of the day, each one of them suggesting assisted suicide. Morecambe and Wise would have made a fantastic sketch out of it, when you think about it. That at least we could avoid if we had an amendment that prohibited them from doing so quite explicitly.
