Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill

Ultimately, terminal diagnosis has a significant pressure on someone’s mental health. Currently, suicidal thoughts are given protection or support. The UK national lead on suicide prevention, Professor Louis Appleby, in research with palliative care expert Katherine Sleeman, raises that increase in suicidal risk. Dr Jamilla Hussain, in committee evidence, said that palliative care staff experience racism and patients from ethnic minorities experience worse outcomes in healthcare.
