As pointed out by the Secondary Legislation Scrutiny Committee, clearly the subject of this SI is Drax, and it is not helpful to the debate that the word “Drax” is not used in the SI or the supporting documents. That is clearly what it is, and it is clearly what it is intended for. That is not a helpful start to taking this forward. We welcome the Government’s commitment to strengthen existing compliance and insurance regimes. We are deeply concerned about Drax’s record, and we are keen to make sure that Drax meets its environmental impacts and costs.
