The Walk Free Foundation estimates that there are 5.4 million children globally living in those institutions—that is horrifying. When it is put to people that 5 million children, over 80% of whom have parents, have been taken from their parents purely for the purpose of raising money, there is utter disbelief. How can this possibly be the situation today? It is estimated that Christian churches in the United States gives $3.3 billion per year to institutions that are not orphanages. They are simply there to raise money.
