Lastly, new clause 84 is on the rural crime prevention strategy: an area that appears to have been all but overlooked by the Government in their recent announcements. I am sure that the national rural crime unit already has a strategy. It was established under the previous Government in 2023 and has recovered stolen property including agricultural machinery and vehicles worth over £10 million since its inception. It has also co-ordinated UK-wide operational responses resulting in multiple arrests as well as disrupting organised crime groups.
