Let me turn to the amendments tabled by my hon. Friend the Member for Rotherham (Sarah Champion). I want to state first of all my ongoing admiration for her tenacity and persistence in always seeking to protect victims, the voiceless and survivors. The House owes her a huge debt of gratitude for her work in this area. We will consider her excellent contribution today. On new clause 18, I reassure her that the detailed statutory guidance on the new child criminal exploitation offence, which will be used by the police to apply the legislation based on the practical circumstances of cases that they deal with, will include the definition of “child criminal exploitation”, setting out in layman’s terms the conduct captured by the offence that amounts to CCE.
