Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading Scheme (Amendment) (Extension to Maritime Activities) Order 2026Contribution
Indeed, how many months before the Government anticipate coming back to this House to repeal all this and bring forward legislation in favour of whatever deal they may be negotiating behind the scenes? It is now apparent that this is an essential part of wider negotiations with the EU, which will inevitably mean that this instrument will be torn up and a new one presented to Parliament within the lifetime of this Government at a substantial cost, if not a multiple of the costs to ferry operators and, particularly, to passengers on ferries going to and fro between Northern Ireland and GB.
