Data (Use and Access) Bill [HL]Contribution
Labour’s pre-election manifesto promised to put creativity back at the centre of our lives, but its EU reset did not sort out touring; there is nothing in the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill about arts or culture, even though they contribute disproportionately to children’s well-being; there is nothing in the workers’ rights Bill for freelance workers; and there is a real-terms cut today for DCMS. Despite an explicit promise in the Government’s cultural manifesto to protect copyright, they are actively standing in the way of 2.4 million workers who are on their knees begging for transparency.
