Holocaust Memorial Bill

Contribution

With great respect, I say to the Minister that it is nonsense to suggest that my amendments seek to run away from the risks in society. In this country, we weigh up the risks to society and take a proportionate decision. In my view, the proportionate decision requires two things. The first of those is, probably, to separate the learning centre, which I would love to see as a large learning institution, from a memorial in Victoria Tower Gardens. The other thing we do in such circumstances is weigh up whether we are putting too great a burden on our police and our security services.
