At the heart of the care workforce pathway is a relationship with a special organisation called Skills for Care. It has been in existence since 2001; it is independent from government and independent from the NHS. As a consequence, I think there is considerable trust in the steps that have been taken, recognising that, while this is not a homogenous workforce—far from it—this is a positive way forward. One of the things I will come on to is about how we can make improvements in that.
