The Labour Party adopted a document called A New Deal for Working People at conference in 2021 and reiterated it at conference in 2022. I suppose I have an interest, since I had the honour to serve as honorary legal adviser to the working party that drafted it, under its chair, Andy McDonald MP. The new deal promised:
