The TUC has collated evidence showing that collective agreements deliver better health and safety, higher and more equal pay, more family-friendly hours and more learning and training opportunities. The OECD and others have identified a strong positive association between high collective bargaining coverage and reduced inequality and poverty. Collective bargaining coverage is high and stable only in countries with multi-employer agreements.
