I am concerned about the approach, as I set out, and that it really is about trying to increase trade union membership. That should be done on the basis of trade unions attracting members and showing the benefits they can have. The benefits can be multiple—I fully accept that—but it should not be done by using an Act of Parliament as a marketing exercise. That is why I am particularly concerned about that part of the proposed new section.
