I have a particular question on the territory of my noble friend Lord Hendy’s amendments. Clearly, without robust enforcement, new rights are never worth the paper they are written on. That includes sanctions that are proportionate, bearing in mind that—to use an example at random—the likes of Amazon have somewhat bigger resources than even some of our biggest trade unions, which in that case is the GMB. They have to be meaningful. We previously discussed the likes of P&O, which brazenly talked about how it had priced in the cost of breaking the law. We need sanctions to be meaningful.
